The roar of rushing waters…

by Mucha

As the children gazed at this amazing sight called Victoria Falls, they marvelled at the beauty of the sound that this great waterfalls made. Nothing could have prepared them enough as they witnessed the power the waterfall commanded as it fell to unseen depths.

We stood quietly, almost enchanted as we gazed upon this sight before us.

The rushing sound of this magnificent waterfall was truly amazing.

For a moment, no words were spoken. We were lost in our interpretations of what we were seeing.

The sound of the rushing waters was strong, captivating and powerful, almost dominating everything around it.

We stood and listened at the powerful roar of the falls as it created a sense of anticipation that increased to a crescendo.

AWE!

As for me, I was now seeing the falls with new eyes. Though having seen them many times before, this time was different. It reminded me of

Ezekiel.

and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing waters, and the land was radiant with his glory.”
Ezekiel 43:2

Despite this captivating sound the falls made, I am sure that it was nothing compared to what the prophet Ezekiel saw.

He heard the voice of God like the roar of rushing waters

Imagine that!

God’s voice is like a rushing waters!

I believe that nothing could have prepared Ezekiel for what he saw and heard!

I am also fascinated by the four living creatures he described,

“When the creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings, like the roar of rushing waters, like the voice of the Almighty, like the tumult of an army.” Ezekiel 1:24

Do you think that Ezekiel knew he was in the presence of a powerful God?

Yes!

It must have been the same sound that woke Lazarus from the dead.

The power and authority of God’s voice is undeniable.

Finally the kids spoke, just one word..

WOW!

Yes, we thought we had prepared them for this amazing sight, but everything we had told them was brought to nothing as they stood face to face with

Victoria Falls…the smoke that thunders.

What more when we will stand face to face with God!
